Position Summary

FLSA Status: Full Time/Exempt

Location/Branch: Irvine, CA

A Relationship Manager is responsible for developing, maintaining, and growing commercial banking relationships that contribute to the Bank’s overall business objectives. This position works with existing and prospective customers to understand their financial needs and provide appropriate lending, deposit, and other banking solutions.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (Duties not limited to those provided here):

• Develop and maintain profitable commercial banking relationships through active business development, networking, referrals, and calling efforts, with a primary focus on commercial real estate and construction lending and related deposit relationships.
• Originate, evaluate, and structure commercial real estate, construction, and other commercial loans consistent with the Bank’s credit standards, risk appetite, lending policies, and strategic objectives.
• Manage and grow an assigned loan and deposit portfolio, maintain strong credit quality, monitor borrower performance and changing risk conditions, and proactively address customer needs.
• Develop comprehensive banking relationships by identifying customer needs and introducing appropriate deposit, treasury management, and other Bank products and services.
• Coordinate with Credit, Loan Operations, Deposit Operations, and other departments to facilitate loan approval, closing, funding, servicing, and resolution of customer or operational issues.
• Maintain an active business development pipeline, document calling activities, and provide management with periodic forecasts of anticipated loan and deposit production.
• Maintain knowledge of market conditions, commercial real estate and construction trends, applicable regulations, Bank policies and procedures, and competitive offerings; represent the Bank professionally in the marketplace and participate in required training.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, accounting, finance, or related field required
• At least 5 years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or portfolio management required
• Demonstrated ability to develop new business and build and maintain commercial banking relationships.
• Strong understanding of commercial credit, including financial statement analysis, cash flow, collateral, loan structure, and risk assessment and working knowledge of commercial loan documentation, lending practices, and applicable banking regulations.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Sound judgment and ability to independently manage priorities, follow through on commitments, and work effectively across departments.
• Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with banking core systems.
