Assistant General Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and detail-oriented Assistant General Manager to lead daily front-of-house operations at our high-end fine dining establishment. Working closely with the General Manager and Executive Chef, you will elevate service standards, manage daily floor operations, mentor staff, and ensure an extraordinary guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee floor operations during dinner service, maintaining a polished, seamless, and attentive guest experience.
Hire, train, schedule, and mentor front-of-house staff (servers, sommeliers, hosts, and support team), upholding strict service standards.
Collaborate with the culinary and beverage teams to conduct daily pre-shift meetings and tasting education.
Manage POS systems, reservations, guest notes, and floor flows via OpenTable.
Drive financial goals by monitoring labor costs, beverage margins, COGS, and daily sales performance.
Maintain strict compliance with local health codes, food handling standards, and alcohol service regulations (TIPS/ServSafe).
Handle guest feedback with poise, discretion, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications & Requirements
3+ years of progressive management experience in fine dining or Michelin-starred restaurants.
Deep knowledge of food preparation techniques, wine regions, spirits, and craft cocktail programs.
Proven track record in team leadership, staff development, and maintaining high morale.
Proficiency with POS systems (Toast), reservation systems, and scheduling platforms.
Strong business acumen regarding P&L management, inventory control, and labor optimization.
Valid Food Handler and TIPS/ServSafe Manager certifications required.
Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 / year (commensurate with experience)
