Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Examine and treat patients Take patients' medical histories Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays Make diagnoses and prescribe medications Treat minor injuries requiring sutures, splints, or casting Record progress notes for follow-up patients Educate and counsel patients Order and/or carry out therapy with patients Give vaccinations and refer patients to additional care Work anticipated eight- or twelve-hour shifts assigned by an authorized GoHealth Urgent Care representative Perform other duties as assigned Requirements Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or one (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required Two years of Family Medicine experience will be considered National Certification Active state medical licensure Applicable office procedures including suturing, splinting, and casting Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records preferred Strong listening, communication, and customer service skills Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in patient examination, diagnosis, and treatment, including suturing and casting. Holds relevant certifications and active medical licensure, with experience in urgent care and emergency medicine settings.
