Position Profile This Electro-Mechanical Technician position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for a variety of duties with minimal supervision, including creating a safe work environment and assisting with production equipment troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance to support MillerKnoll’s business goals. Daily Duties Attend service calls and provide quality workmanship in a timely manner. Repair and maintain plant equipment such as hydraulic/pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems, part fixtures, servo drives/motors, electrical motors, automated manufacturing equipment, bearings, safety sensors, motion controls, sewing/textile equipment, control systems, and PLCs. Utilize proper lockout/tagout, confined space, and hot work permit procedures to maintain a safe environment while following EHS/regulatory procedures. Perform preventative maintenance tasks effectively and efficiently. Use mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics for troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and repairs. Create detailed reports of repairs performed on equipment with CMMS. Follow and promote GMPs and other quality programs related to the maintenance department. Maintain a clean work/production environment daily and after maintenance work has been performed. Participate in continuous improvement events, including Kaizens. Work other assigned shifts as needed to meet business needs. Required Skills Ability to read, understand, and utilize mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical drawings/schematics. Forklift license or willingness/ability to obtain one. Welding knowledge/experience or willingness/ability to become proficient in MIG/TIG welding. Basic understanding of PLC systems & Ladder Logic (Allen Bradley a plus). Interpersonal skills to build relationships within the team and organization. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, and Excel. High level of urgency and ability to work with minimal supervision. Preferred Skills Familiarity with CMMS for preventive maintenance data input and inventory management (Maximo a plus). Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED with a technical certification in a related field. 7-10 years of manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience, with ability to work both in a team setting and independently. 5+ years of mechanical, electrical, and PLC experience. Prior troubleshooting and preventive maintenance experience. Preferred Qualifications Associate degree in maintenance, mechatronics, engineering, or related discipline.
