Hillard Electric is an electrical contractor serving commercial and industrial customers in the Grand Rapids area since 2005. In 2023, Hillard partnered with Crete United to build a leading commercial/industrial electrical, Communications and Automation contracting company in Michigan. Crete United is one of the largest and fastest growing providers of commercial mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) services in the United States. Partnering with Crete United, Hillard is positioning for significant growth and is seeking an experience Communications Technician to join or growing team!

Job Type: Full time permanent position. M-Thur 7:00 AM -5:00PM

Location: Cedar Springs and surrounding counties.

Pay: $20.00-$34.00 Per hour DOE + No out-of-pocket benefit expenses!

Job Duties:

• Responsible for developing methodologies and criteria for the installation, inspection, and documentation of structured cabling system infrastructure to include cable tray, horizontal fiber and copper cable, multi-strand fiber optic cable, and associated connectivity hardware.
• Installation of ducts and conduits, pulling cables, and terminating, testing, and repairing interior and outside copper, coaxial, and fiber optic cabling.
• Install, fusion splice, label and test optical fiber.
• Install, terminate, label and test shielded and un-shielded copper.
• Install complete data center infrastructure (Racks, PDU, CAT6, SM/MM Fiber, Patch Panels, and Labeling).
• Familiarity with common networking terms.
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide resolution.
• Install audio video Components: Projectors, TVs, speakers, Etc.
• Installation of cameras and recording components.

Requirements:

• 2-3 Years previous experience with Fiber optics, installation of CCTV, Cables, Electrical components.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing.
• Ability to Pass Background Check.
• Ability to take direction and work well with others.
• Positive attitude to learn and grow your expertise with hands on training and guidance from lead Technicians.
• Attention to detail and strong written, verbal communication skills.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Cedar Springs, MI: Reliably commute or planning to relocate after starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Fiber optics: 1 years (Required)
• Cabling / Install: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
