Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.Schedule: Full Time Evening Shift 3p-3a Unit Summary Busy ER in level One Trauma Hospital -Certified Chest Pain and Stroke Center Our Registered Nurse (RN) staff are proficient in Stroke and STEMI activations and established care guidelines This is a fast-paced ER environment whose success is dependent on teamwork. We have 50 exam rooms and 6 trauma bays RNs work closely with ED Providers, Social Workers, Registration, etc. because we are truly in it together! The Emergency department primarily cares for adult populations, but we do care for pediatric patients as needed. Registered Nurses (RN) can be involved in Improvement projects, Shared Governance, department committees and councils. Responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses. Secure patient travel. Know about patient needs in healthcare. Help patients and prevent issues. Follow the Texas Nursing Practice Act and delegate tasks based on condition and team competencies.Essential Functions of the Role As an RN, conduct detailed clinical assessments and prioritize patient and family needs. Create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Adjust plans to reach desired outcomes. Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.Key Success Factors A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures. Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules. Qualifications Grad of an Accredited RN Program Specialized field of study should be nursing. RN license. Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.
