Embark on an enriching opportunity to support vibrant elementary learners by providing speech-language pathology services in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, onsite contract position offers the chance to work closely with students, families, and staff to foster communication growth and academic success. Starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 11, 2027, your expertise will make a direct impact every day.
In this role, you'll collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary special education team and may occasionally split your time between two nearby school sites. Your commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning environment will help students overcome challenges and reach their greatest potential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active State of Connecticut SLP license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) strongly preferred; open to Clinical Fellows (CFs) with supervision
- Prior school-based SLP experience required
- Must complete district-specific fingerprinting and background checks
- Comfortable traveling between two elementary sites, if needed
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- SLPAs are not eligible for this role
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct therapy for an elementary caseload of students with diverse communication needs
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote student progress
- Maintain thorough documentation in accordance with district and licensing guidelines
- Attend meetings and conferences as required
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with students, families, and colleagues
Several openings are available, and supervision is in place for those pursuing their Clinical Fellowship. Interviews will be held via Zoom for your convenience. Upfront licensing is advantageous for a streamlined onboarding experience.
