Quality Control Inspector IIThe Quality Control Inspector II is an intermediate level mechanical inspector role. The primary function of the role is to inspect components and assemblies for dimensional, aesthetic and workmanship characteristics. Simultaneously, the Quality Control Inspector II will verify documentation is complete and accurate from internal and external suppliers. This Team Member will perform all mechanical inspection using micrometers, calipers height gages and hardness testing equipment and will log data as required. The Quality Control Inspector II will interpret measuring results passing confirming product and will generate non-conformance documentation. Commitment to and support of the Company Core Values are key to success in this position.Essential duties and responsibilities include performing all work in a manner that is safe for you and fellow team members and is compliant with Vitesse System safety policies, following all quality procedures, work instructions, and documents pertaining to your job and department, completing all paperwork and documentation required with order, verifying all traveler sign-offs, SPC sheets have been completed and signed off in accordance with good documentation practices, verifying part number, revision, expiration dates and other data fields on supplier certification match work order or purchase order requirements, inspecting parts to blueprint specifications and workmanship standards, verifying that all company and personal inspection equipment and tools being used are in calibration, reporting non-conformances to Quality Supervisor and generating Non-Conformance reports for all discrepant material, identifying potential issues/problems and contributing to corrective action investigations, independently operating equipment & tasks within allotted times, maintaining a clean and organized work area, being proficient in inspection tooling: height gages, calipers, micrometers, and hardness testing, being proficient with setup and operation of CMM, performing all functions of the job while adhering to established quality policies and procedures, and upholding the company's core values.This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications include having the knowledge and experience necessary for the position, being able to operate the various machines within the department with minimal instruction, excellent attention to detail, the ability to read and understand drawings, blueprints and specifications, the ability to inspect the parts they are machining, the ability to measure with vernier caliper, micrometers and height gauges, the ability to follow instructions and procedures and work with minimal supervision, strong communication, both written and oral and problem-solving skills, the ability to be adaptable to a changing work environment and competing demands, and excellent problem-solving skills.Additional information includes actively supporting and complying with Vitesse Systems objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement, transparency, and collaboration, the ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with Team Members at all levels, the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager, the ability to be flexible regarding working hours and overtime, the ability to work overtime in the evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice, the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.Education and/or experience include a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), 2-year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, and experience in an AS9100 environment preferred.Language skills include the ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.Mathematical skills include the ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.Reasoning ability includes the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, licenses, registrations include authorization to work in the United States. To conform to U.S. export control regulations, you should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government.Physical demands include standing, walking, and hearing. The Team Member frequently uses hands and fingers; handles, feels, and reaches with hands and arms. The Team Member is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The Team Member must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts. The Team Member may be exposed to a hot and/or cold work environment, chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, loud noises, risk of electrical shock and vibration and/or other occupational hazards; personal protective equipment may be required.
