Position Summary

A member of the Freshman recruitment team reporting to the Associate Director of Undergraduate Admission, the admission counselor’s primary responsibility is to guide students and families through the application and enrollment process, which includes meeting with prospective students, families and school partners to assess academic eligibility, discuss academic offerings and inform individuals of the Roosevelt student experience. This position will also serve as an initial point of contact for post-admission processes to supplement other offices like Financial Aid Services, Academic Advising, or other student support services and actively support campus events and visits.


This is a full-time, hybrid position with an expectation to be on campus three days a week.

The salary range for this position is $50,000-$52,000

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience within a college or university with knowledge of admission and financial aid processes.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Presentation, word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
• Ability to articulate the values and mission.
• Team player who has the ability to adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish speaking (conversational)

Equipment Operated

• Basic office equipment: desktop/laptop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax, cellphone and landline telephone.
• Software systems: CRM (Slate), SIS (Banner), video conferencing (Zoom) and remote communication tool (Microsoft Teams)

Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is mostly sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 15 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition.
