We're looking for a collaborative educator to join a team focused on developing leaders who serve the needs of society and the profession.What We're Looking ForAn energetic individual with clinical or academic research and/or teaching experience in evidence-based practice, research methodology, foundational examination/intervention coursework, and/or health systems management.The flexibility to complement our existing faculty and teaching needs.This is a 12-month with rank and salary commensurate with experience. The role centers on teaching, scholarship, and service:Teaching: Instruction and student assessment in assigned coursesScholarship & Assessment: Individual or collaborative scholarship agenda and Course/program assessment, plus accreditation activitiesService & Governance: Academic advising, program and university governance, and participation in strategic planning and implementationThe faculty member reports to the Chair of the Physical Therapy Program and helps advance the mission and vision of both the program and the University.About the ProgramOur DPT Program is housed within the College of Health Sciences, alongside graduate programs in Counseling/Human Development, Exercise Physiology, Nursing, and Occupational Therapy; and undergraduate programs in social, behavioral and health sciences. We actively promote collaboration across the College.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:Lead course delivery within your area of expertise, including content delivery and assessment of student learningCommunicate and organize effectively, working collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students within the program and across the UniversityEvaluate students to determine readiness to progress in the curriculumTeach assigned courses throughout our 12-month programMaintain professional service through active membership in a professional society (e.g., APTA)Participate in independent or collaborative scholarly activities, including the design, implementation, and completion of work disseminated through presentations or publicationsThis job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee(s) of this position. Must also possess the following:EducationAn earned terminal academic degree (DHSc, EdD, or PhD) combined with a professional physical therapy degree (BS/MS PT or DPT)ExperienceMinimum 3 years of clinical rehabilitation experienceTeaching experienceInvolvement in a professional societyInterest in collaboratively pursuing grant funding to support scholarly workPreferred Qualifications5+ years of clinical rehabilitation experienceClassroom or lab instruction experience with graduate students, particularly DPT studentsInvolvement in professional community development activities
