What You'll Do

As a Project Manager, you'll lead the successful delivery of construction projects from award through closeout, providing overall leadership for project execution, commercial performance, client relationships, and project teams. Working in partnership with Superintendents and Construction Operations leadership, you'll establish the strategy, direction, and coordination necessary to deliver projects safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget.

This role carries full accountability for project performance. You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, make informed business decisions, manage project risk, and foster strong relationships with clients, design partners, subcontractors, and suppliers. By balancing operational execution with sound commercial management, you'll help deliver exceptional project outcomes while supporting UIG's long-term growth and reputation.
You'll have the opportunity to:

• Lead all phases of project delivery from project award through closeout, establishing the strategy, priorities, and leadership necessary to achieve successful project outcomes.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, owners, design partners, and key project stakeholders by building trusted relationships through responsive communication, sound judgment, and dependable project leadership.
• Develop and execute comprehensive project management plans that align project scope, schedule, budget, staffing, procurement, quality, safety, and risk management objectives.
• Partner with Superintendents to ensure field operations are properly planned, staffed, equipped, and supported to achieve safe, efficient, and productive project execution.
• Lead project financial management by developing budgets, monitoring costs, managing forecasts, reviewing cost-to-complete projections, and implementing strategies that support strong financial performance.
• Direct project procurement activities by overseeing subcontractor selection, contract negotiations, material purchasing, and supplier relationships to support project objectives and mitigate project risk.
• Administer owner contracts, subcontract agreements, and purchase orders while ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled and project interests are effectively protected.
• Lead project planning meetings by coordinating engineering, procurement, construction operations, subcontractors, and support teams to maintain alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify project risks early and develop proactive mitigation strategies that protect safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and client satisfaction.
• Lead change management activities by evaluating project impacts, negotiating change orders, documenting contractual changes, and protecting the company's commercial interests.
• Monitor project performance through production reporting, schedule updates, quality metrics, financial reporting, and operational analysis to drive informed business decisions.
• Champion a culture where safety is integrated into every project decision by ensuring planning, execution, and leadership support safe work practices and operational excellence.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with clients, regulatory agencies, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and internal business partners while representing UIG with professionalism and integrity.
• Mentor Assistant Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Field Engineers by providing coaching, leadership, and opportunities for professional development that strengthen the organization's future leadership pipeline.
• Promote consistency across project management practices, documentation, communication, financial controls, and operational processes while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives throughout Construction Operations.
• Collaborate with regional leadership to support business development, project pursuits, workforce planning, operational improvements, and strategic organizational initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and progressive construction industry experience.
• Demonstrated success managing commercial construction projects with responsibility for project execution, financial performance, contracts, client relationships, and project teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, scheduling, project controls, estimating, budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and project financial management.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams while effectively coordinating field operations, engineering, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Proven leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience utilizing project management, scheduling, document control, ERP, and project controls systems.
• Ability to balance operational priorities with commercial objectives while maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional project results.
• Commitment to safety, operational excellence, ethical leadership, and continuous improvement.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project locations as business needs require.
