Salary: $68,000-72,000

About TAC: Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC) is a national nonprofit organization based in Alexandria, Virginia. TAC’s mission is to eliminate barriers to the timely and effective treatment of serious mental illnesses involving psychosis. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, TAC works to improve access to treatment and support better outcomes for individuals, families, and communities.

Job Summary:

The Education Program Specialist plays a key role in supporting TAC's Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) programs and professional learning initiatives. This position is responsible for coordinating and managing TAC's national AOT Learning Network (AOTLN), a multidisciplinary community of professionals and stakeholders committed to advancing effective outpatient court-ordered treatment programs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator who enjoys coordinating virtual events, managing projects, building professional relationships, and creating engaging content. This role requires someone who can successfully manage multiple priorities while working with a diverse range of partners, including judges, attorneys, mental health providers, case managers, program coordinators, state and county officials, advocates, family members, and individuals with lived experience.

The Education Program Specialist will help ensure that TAC delivers high-quality educational programming, meaningful networking opportunities, and timely resources that support best practices in AOT implementation nationwide.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute virtual webinars, meetings, workshops, and other educational events, including scheduling, registration, speaker coordination, technology platforms, and post-event follow-up.
• Develop and distribute program communications, promotional materials, newsletters, announcements, and other content to support member recruitment, engagement, program promotion, and the overall visibility and growth of the network.
• Maintain and update program resources, webpages, online directories, interactive tools, and resource libraries to ensure information remains current and accessible.
• Foster peer learning and professional collaboration among a diverse network of stakeholders, including mental health providers, judges, attorneys, case managers, program administrators, advocates, family members, and individuals with lived experience.
• Collaborate with internal staff, consultants, speakers, and external partners to develop and deliver high-quality educational programming and technical assistance activities.
• Collect, track, and analyze program participation and performance data; maintain records and databases; and assist with reporting for organizational leadership and funders.
• Provide administrative, research, and project management support to advance departmental priorities, strategic initiatives, and special projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• • Experience supporting learning communities, membership networks, professional associations, or technical assistance programs.
  • Experience with website content management systems, particularly WordPress
  • Experience with CRM and email marketing platforms, particularly Salesforce Account Engagement.
  • Experience with webinar and virtual meeting platforms.
  • Familiarity with mental health systems, criminal or civil court system, public policy, disability or related fields.
  • Experience developing communications or marketing materials for professional audiences.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in public policy, psychology, social work, public health, criminal justice, law, communications, education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Two to five years of relevant experience in program coordination, education, technical assistance, communications, nonprofit management or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience managing projects, events, or professional engagement activities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of working at computer
• Ability to travel up to 20% annually
