About the role As a part-time Mental Health Counselor I at Bethel University, you will join a collaborative, Christ-centered team dedicated to helping students navigate the complexities of young adulthood. You will empower students of all ages from Bethel University and Bethel Seminary to find healing and resilience, equipping them to lead lives of impact. This part-time role follows the academic school year, working 30 hours per week beginning late August through late May. The starting annual salary for this part-time position is $35,100 to $45,000.
SCHEDULE: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday: Off Start date: August 24, 2026 (Note: The 9-month schedule the first year will be 08/24/2026-05/23/2027. Travel: This position does not require travel. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office/clinic environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop and/or laptop computers, photocopiers and smartphones. The work environment involves working for a suburban, Christian university in which all employees are expected to have a demonstrated commitment and personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a commitment to the mission and values of the University, and an agreement to abide by all University policies. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. - Provide high-quality individual mental health counseling/psychotherapy to a diverse student body within Bethel University and Bethel Seminary.
- Offer relational counseling to help students build healthy, thriving connections.

- Integrate clinical experience with a compassionate understanding of the student experience.
Clinical Documentation - 15%
- Ensure clinical integrity through timely, accurate documentation and reporting.
- Effectively manage a caseload to ensure every student receives consistent and attentive care.
- Actively participate in weekly staff meetings, supervision, and university-wide gatherings, including Chapel, to stay connected to the heart of the campus.
- Provide psycho-educational training for students, staff, and faculty.
- Serve as a consultative partner during Bethel Care Team meetings, and represent counseling services on university committees, as assigned.
- Participate in professional development and maintain credentials consistent with the position.
- Provide clinical or administrative guidance to counseling interns when the director and supervisory staff are unavailable.
- Master's Degree is required in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a closely related field.
- Licensure: Must be Licensed (or license-eligible) as anLMFT or LPCC in the State of Minnesota.
- Clinical Experience: 1+ years of experience in adult mental health counseling (experience with the 16-25 age demographic and in a university setting is highly preferred).
