In this role, you will be instrumental in a significant platform overhaul, transitioning from unstructured, page-based content to sophisticated structured content models. You will establish the essential content layer needed for cutting-edge AI-powered experiences, advanced search capabilities, and deep personalization. Your efforts will empower content owners and marketers with clear frameworks, innovative tools, and comprehensive training, guiding them into a new era of content management. You will also be a key driver in aligning content strategy with user experience (UX) and technology implementation, ensuring a seamless and effective digital ecosystem.
**What You'll Do:**
* **Content Structure & Modeling:**
* Design and implement structured content models tailored to new templates and content types for a major digital initiative.
* Translate complex business and UX requirements into modular content components, schemas, and metadata models.
* Define content relationships, taxonomy, and controlled vocabularies to enhance discoverability and reuse across platforms.
* Collaborate closely with CMS and engineering teams to ensure content models are technically sound, scalable, and system-ready.
* **AI-Ready Content Enablement:**
* Engineer content structures to optimally support AI-driven search and retrieval, personalization, segmentation, and content automation.
* Develop and implement metadata and tagging strategies that significantly improve AI understanding and output quality.
* Partner with AI and Large Language Model (LLM) stakeholders to align content structures with advanced AI use cases.
* Identify and implement opportunities to optimize existing content for efficient AI consumption and generation.
* **Enablement & Adoption:**
* Create and deliver clear guidance, comprehensive documentation, and practical playbooks for content creators.
* Simplify complex concepts like structured content, metadata, and AI readiness into actionable workflows.
* Facilitate engaging working sessions with content owners and marketers to drive adoption of new methodologies.
* Support critical change management efforts, guiding the transition from traditional content models to iterative, modular workflows.
* **Governance & Operationalization:**
* Operationalize and reinforce robust content governance standards across the entire content ecosystem.
* Establish clear rules for content creation, assembly, metadata application, quality assurance, and publishing workflows.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (UX, Design Systems, Technology) to ensure consistent implementation of content standards.
* Contribute to the development of a scalable content operating model for long-term sustainability post-launch.
**Must-Have Qualifications:**
* 5+ years of experience in content strategy, content architecture, or content engineering.
* Proven experience in content modeling, taxonomy, and metadata design at scale.
* Deep understanding of modular content systems and headless CMS environments.
* Hands-on experience with content modeling and structured content implementations, CMS platforms, and digital experience ecosystems.
* Expertise in taxonomy, metadata, and content governance frameworks.
* Experience supporting large-scale site rebuilds or significant digital transformation programs.
* Direct experience with AI-enabled content, search, or personalization systems.
* Deep knowledge of how content powers Large Language Models (LLMs), semantic search/vector-based retrieval, and AI-driven personalization.
* Ability to translate AI requirements into practical content structure decisions.
* Experience optimizing content for machine readability and automation.
* Strong strategic thinking with the ability to connect content decisions to business outcomes (e.g., conversion, engagement, speed, compliance).
* A systems-thinking approach, capable of designing end-to-end content ecosystems.
* Exceptional cross-functional leadership skills, with strong communication across marketing, UX, and engineering teams.
* Ability to bridge strategy and execution, effectively driving alignment among diverse stakeholders.
**Nice-to-Have Qualifications:**
* Experience in financial services or other highly regulated industries.
* Familiarity with design systems and component-driven UX models.
* Experience contributing to content migration at an enterprise scale.
