In this key role, you will help implement policies that prioritize Worker Safety and EHS compliance. You will support the EHS Team by leveraging your knowledge of workers’ compensation laws and regulatory frameworks to exceed compliance standards and support our best-in-industry EHS operation. Join us in making a meaningful impact on the safety and sustainability of our operations!**WHAT YOU'LL DO:***The below statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. May perform other duties as assigned.** **EHS Program Management:** You will support the management of location EHS programs including program updates, inspections of equipment and processes, metrics and other duties as requested. You will assist in completing applications for environmental permits to prevent a lapse in coverage.* **Process Safety and Security:** You will support compliance with Process Safety Management/Risk Management plan requirements for the ammonia refrigeration system and help ensure the Site Security Plan is followed.* **Data Tracking and Reporting:**You will be responsible for gathering and tracking key EHS key performance indicators such as OSHA/environmental violations, incident rates, employee turnover, workers’ compensation claims, and audit results. You will assist in reviewing and monitoring all incident investigation reports and employee exposure surveys to completion ensuring tracking and closure of identified action items.* **ISO Certification Support:**You will support location ISO certification management teams and documentation control requirements. You will work with the location team to ensure conformance to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 programs as well as support maintenance of Smithfield Injury Prevention System (SIPS) and Environmental Management System (EMS) programs.* **Training and Compliance:**You will help provide adequate training for production employees and management staff as required by OSHA and environmental permits. You will ensure adherence to company policies and reporting non-compliance for correction or re-training. You will support the determination of location compliance with safety processes, and environmental permits and plans including wastewater, air, storm water permits, and SPCC plan.* **Team Collaboration:**As a member of the EHS team, you will ensure effective implementation and maintenance of all EHS requirements. You will provide support to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.**WHAT WE'RE SEEKING:***To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
