By reinforcing the digital and physical infrastructure underpinning space superiority, we empower operators to execute their objectives with absolute confidence—ensuring the success of critical national security, civil, and defense missions.Roles & Responsibilities:Define and develop Space Systems cybersecurity requirements using systems engineering principlesDevelop Space system cybersecurity capabilities to apply into architecture-level constructs accounting for expected system behaviorDefine how cybersecurity capabilities are evaluated and validated within Space systemsDefine measurable outcomes for cybersecurity effectiveness (e.g., containment, detection, mission impact)Integrate with MBSE/modeling teams to ensure accurate representation of cybersecurity capabilities, trust boundaries, and enforcement points, with full traceability from capability through architecture to system elements.Basic Qualifications:Typically requires a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or 5 years and a PhDBachelor’s or higher degree from an accredited technical program in engineering, computer science or other applicable degree.Demonstrated experience applying cybersecurity to embedded, mission-critical, or constrained system environmentsExperience translating cybersecurity into system architecture decisionsExperience in defining how system solutions are evaluated, including performance under failure or degraded conditionsActive TS/SCI clearance with a polygraphU.S. Citizenship requiredThis position has an on-site requirement of 5 days a week on-sitePreferred Qualifications: Advanced degree in applicable STEM areasExperience with space systems or other complex systemsExperience applying novel cybersecurity approaches to constrained, autonomous, or disconnected systemsExperience working with MBSE/DE and Modeling/Simulation teamsExperience with threat-informed engineering, resilience analysis, or mission assuranceThis requisition requires the candidate to have a minimum of the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCI/PolygraphThis requisition requires the hired candidate to have or obtain, within one year from the date of hire, the following clearance(s):Top Secret/SCI/PolygraphSalary compensation range and midpoint:$172,800 - $216,000 - $259,200 AnnualWork Location Type:OnsiteCommitment to Non-DiscriminationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to disability, status as a protected veteran or any other status protected by applicable federal, state, local or international law.MITRE intends to maintain a website that is fully accessible to all individuals.
