Advanced Practice Provider Emergency

Overview Reporting to the Chief of Emergency Medicine and working as part of the Emergency Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service. Responsibilities Obtain patient histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission. Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Coordinate tests and consultations. Implement treatment plans, which includes communicating with referring and consulting physicians. Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members regarding treatment and medical care. Prepare patients for discharge. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies, National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants is required or master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s Program. License Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required. Experience Minimum of 1 year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care. The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside our Emergency Physicians. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Fast-paced, interactive, team-oriented Emergency Department environment with a diverse range of patients and pathology.
