Job Title: Warehouse Worker – Night Shift (Forklift & Machine Operator) Job Description

This role combines sit-down forklift operation with machine setup and operation in a busy production environment. You will handle heavy master coils, support slitting operations on the night shift, and contribute to a well-organized warehouse and production floor. The position offers structured training, opportunities to advance into higher-level machine operating roles, and the chance to work in a close-knit, growth-oriented environment.

• Operate a sit-down forklift to safely move, load, and unload materials, including master coils weighing up to 12,000 lbs.
• Support night shift slitting operations by staging materials, feeding machines, and ensuring smooth production flow.
• Set up production and slitting machines according to specifications, including reading and interpreting measurements accurately.
• Monitor machines during operation to ensure proper performance and product quality, and make adjustments as needed.
• Follow detailed work instructions and maintain a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.
• Perform basic quality checks on materials and finished products, identifying and reporting any defects or inconsistencies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on the warehouse and production floor.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, especially when operating forklifts and handling heavy coils.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous workflow.
• Participate in training on day shift for approximately four weeks to learn processes, equipment, and safety standards before transitioning to the night shift.

• At least 5 years of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
• Current and valid forklift certification for sit-down forklift operation.
• Experience working in a warehouse or production environment.
• Ability to set up machines and follow technical setup instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret measurements accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Comfort with handling and moving heavy materials, including large master coils.
• Willingness and ability to work night shift hours (approximately 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.).

• Background as a machine operator is highly beneficial.
• Experience with CNC machine operation is a plus but not required.
• Ability to learn new machinery and processes during a structured training period.
• Reliability and consistency in attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

The role is based on a production floor and warehouse environment that is organized and focused on efficient material flow. You will work primarily on the night shift from approximately 5:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., following an initial training period on the day shift from about 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The work involves operating forklifts and production machinery, handling heavy master coils, and working around industrial equipment. The environment is active and hands-on, requiring adherence to safety protocols and appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, WA.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
