Manufacturing Chemist 1

Position Summary Seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Manufacturing Chemist with experience in oligonucleotide and analytical instrument to join our Primer Manufacturing group. The candidate should have a good understanding of purification techniques used in the manufacture of complex nucleotides, such as ion exchange and hydrophobic interaction chromatography (preferred but not required). The candidate should have at least one year of chemistry bench experience in synthetic processes. Responsibilities Demonstrated ability to follow established protocols in the production of complex organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides. Assist in the synthesis and purification of complicated organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides following established processes and protocols. Maintain inventory control of reagents, chemicals and supplies using proper labeling and computerized transactions. Keep the laboratory organized and ensure availability of supplies. Label tubes and bottles and dispense reagents. Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work area at all times (6S). Perform routine testing, operation maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment. Actively contribute to team discussions, project planning, and project execution. Review batch records for accuracy and completeness. Resolve routine issues and report non‑standard or critical issues. Operate in compliance with regulatory and safety requirements. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in R&D, HSE, Quality Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering. Understand basic equipment and instrument upkeep, calibration, and maintenance policies. Requirements 0-2 years of manufacturing laboratory experience. Ability to follow established protocols to assist the production of complex organic molecules and modified oligonucleotides. Basic chemistry, math and analytical skills. Ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP system. Knowledge of MRP and ERP systems is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated experience in GMP. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook. Experience in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies is preferred. Experience working in a regulated GMP manufacturing environment under ISO 13485 or 21 CFR 820. Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry highly preferred. Compensation The estimated base hourly range for the Manufacturing Chemist 1 role based in the United States of America is: $27.50 - $41.25. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role. Most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity.
