Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care in a supportive environment that emphasizes best practices and exceptional customer service. This role fosters relationship-based care and upholds professional nursing standards guided by the ANA Code of Ethics, Nursing Process, and regulatory requirements. Acute care settings include medical units, surgery, emergency, ICU, childbirth, pediatrics, operating room, perianesthesia, endoscopy, and cardiac cath lab.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage time and resources, prioritizing critical tasks while balancing short- and long-term goals.
  • Apply new knowledge and skills from ongoing education to improve patient care and reduce costs.
  • Make patient care assignments based on nurse expertise, patient acuity, and technical needs.
  • Deliver excellent guest relations to patients, families, physicians, and colleagues, embodying core values such as respect, integrity, collaboration, empathy, and courage.
  • Communicate clearly to manage expectations and provide timely responses to patient needs.
  • Maintain a therapeutic environment by minimizing noise and supporting healthcare students and programs.
  • Prioritize safety for patients, guests, and staff by adhering to national safety standards, HIPAA, and Just Culture principles.
  • Engage in professional growth through certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities.
  • Promote teamwork by inspiring and mentoring colleagues, fostering trust and cooperation.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and regulatory guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent experience with at least five years of acute care nursing if from a non-accredited program.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or required within five years of hire.
  • Completion and maintenance of area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications.

Licensure:

Current active Registered Nurse license as required by the state board.

Work Shift:

Day shift, 36 hours per week.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest region of the United States.
