Opto-Mechanical Assembly Technician

Responsibilities

Product/component level assembly

Optical alignment

Testing of optical and laser components

Wide range of assembly processes of precision opto-mechanical components including: soldering, adhesive bonding, UV Curing and mechanical assembly

Cleaning and inspecting optics

Cleaning and inspecting mechanical parts

Optical, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting

Repair

General cleaning and upkeep of work area to uphold cleanroom environment

Follow company laser safety practices

Requirements

AS in Opto-Mechanical, Optics or Electronics preferred, or equivalent experience required

Must have 3 – 5 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of multimeters, oscilloscopes, optical spectrum analyzers and laser beam profiling equipment preferred

Ability to work in required cleanroom dress, i.e., gloves, bonnets, frocks, shoe covers, etc.

Must have good hand-eye coordination and dexterity

Proficient soldering skills

Ability to work with small parts under a microscope for extended periods for time

Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics

Must be organized, energetic, reliable, timely and detail oriented
