Associate Microbiologist - Pharmaceutical (259077) Skokie, Illinois Salary: USD22 - USD28.5 per hour + See details in Job Description Associate Microbiologist We are seeking a detail-oriented Associate Microbiologist to join the Quality Control team supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing and laboratory quality. In this microbiology team role, you will perform essential microbiological testing, routine environmental monitoring, and media preparation while adhering to cGMP standards. Responsibilities Microbiological & Utility Testing: Perform routine testing including environmental monitoring (air, surface, personnel, cleanrooms), bioburden, water system monitoring, endotoxin testing, microbial identification, and sterility testing support. Environmental Sampling: Collect, process, and document samples from cleanrooms, manufacturing areas and laboratories following aseptic techniques and maintaining gowning qualifications. Laboratory Operations & Media Prep: Prepare media, reagents, standards, and solutions; conduct growth promotion studies and media qualification activities. Data Integrity & Compliance: Review laboratory data and maintain accurate records in strict alignment with cGMP standards. Qualifications & Skills Education: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific discipline. Experience: 0–2 years of microbiology experience (laboratory coursework, internships, or academic research included; pharmaceutical or regulated industry experience is a plus). Technical Skills: Familiarity with standard microbiological techniques, aseptic procedures, or environmental monitoring. Documentation & Software: Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and standard laboratory data systems. Preferred Knowledge (Plus, but not required): Familiarity with cGMP, FDA, and USP microbiological guidelines. Basic understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS).
