REGISTERED NURSE - MED SURG

Overview Valley Hospital Medical Center has been providing quality patient care since 1972. Located in the heart of the Las Vegas Medical District, it operates 306 acute care beds, including a 48‑bed behavioral health unit. As a teaching hospital with graduate medical education, a pharmacy residency program, and over 600 multidisciplinary clerkships and internships annually, Valley Hospital focuses on evidence‑based medicine and clinical pathways that research shows to be effective for most patients. Responsibilities Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. Provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. Build a foundation of Patient‑Centered Care for all nursing care. Oversee and guide employees under your supervision and demonstrate Service Excellence standards at all times. Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred. Experience: One (1) year full‑time or three (3) years part‑time experience in an acute care setting preferred. License/Certification: Current RN license in the State of Nevada; Current BLS certification. Current PALS certification (pediatric patients) or current NRP certification (neonatal patients) as required by department. Other certifications may be required by facility, specialty, or department. Other: Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility. Note: An RN graduate is a nurse who has completed a course of study at a school of nursing and is eligible for the NCLEX. The RN graduate performs directly under the supervision of the Charge Nurse or RN designee. An interim RN license must be granted by the Nevada State Board of Nursing.
