Structural Water Engineer Part-Time Part‑time civil engineer role focused on designing structural systems for water purification and treatment facilities. The engineer will create analysis, drawings, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver critical infrastructure projects. Key Responsibilities Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities. Supervise Structural Engineers (in the US and overseas) and work with Structural Technicians in preparation of structural drawings and specifications. Lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects. Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals. Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers. Lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values up to $100M. Provide guidance and direction on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and B&V policies; assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards. Implement resource management strategy including managing resources for a small group. Preferred Qualifications Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program. Familiarity with the latest editions of the International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, and ACI 530. Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000. Proficiency with non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years related work experience. Must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle record search). Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements in applicable countries. Certifications Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements for BV projects in applicable countries. Work Environment and Physical Demands Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based on manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments. The position may be eligible for relocation. This role may require occasional travel and on-site presence.
