Telemetry Tech- Cardiac Step-down

Overview Night shift 24 - 36 hrs per week. Job Description Summary Monitors and records data from medical equipment to ensure proper functioning and patient safety. Responsible for equipment maintenance. Essential Functions Maintain appropriate heart rhythm tracing. Recognize normal heart rhythm, artifact, and life threatening heart rhythms. Respond to all monitor alarms, report heart rhythm changes to RN or MD promptly. Clean, maintain, and inventory all equipment associated with cardiac monitors and other equipment as assigned. Precept new employees, ability to educate other employees on correct usage of both telemetry and bedside monitors. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, required. Licensure: not specified. Certifications: Current CPR certification (BLS-Health Care Provider), required. Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills. Ability to identify abnormal rhythms and/or changes in rhythms preferred. Experience: Previous health care experience as a Nursing Assistant, Unit Coordinator, Medical Assistant, nursing student, EMT, Medic or experience with cardiology patients, required. Physical Requirements Occasionally: Computer skills, Decision Making, Lifting / Carrying 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying 11-20 lbs, Lifting / Carrying 21-40 lbs, Loud Noises, Machinery, Patient Equipment, Problem solving, Standing, Walking.
