About the Role
The Company is seeking a Dean for its College of Engineering. The successful candidate will be the chief academic and administrative officer, responsible for providing strategic vision and operational leadership across the college's academic programs, research, and industry engagement. This role demands a distinguished academic with a doctorate or terminal degree, significant administrative experience, and a proven track record of collaboration and innovation. The Dean will be expected to elevate the college's engineering excellence, expand its capacity to support growth, deepen industry and community partnerships, and advance emerging academic platforms. A key focus will be on strengthening student success and graduate education, particularly in the context of the college's R1 research university status. The ideal candidate will be a visionary leader, adept at fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and will have a strong background in the unique programs and setting of the college. They should be a skilled resource advocate, with the ability to secure the necessary resources to sustain growth and realize the college's full potential. The Dean will also be the public voice of the college, promoting its goals and achievements, and engaging with industry and community partners. Strong communication skills, business and political acumen, and the ability to manage change and build consensus are essential. The role is pivotal in shaping the college's identity and its contributions to local, state, national, and international communities.
