Hospitalist - Physician

Jobtailor

• Manage the care of patients hospitalized with complex acute health problems
• Facilitate continuity of care from admission through discharge
• Perform initial assessments and follow-up evaluation and management
• Prepare patients for discharge
• Obtain pertinent medical and non-medical histories
• Perform physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Order pharmacological therapies
• Consult and collaborate with specialists and an interdisciplinary team
• Execute complex medical decision-making
• Communicate with patient families
• Coordinate discharge

Requirements

MD or DO
Completion of advanced graduate medical education in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Board eligibility or board certification in the respective field
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care
Ability to manage complex acute health problems in hospitalized patients
Ability to perform assessments, physical examinations, diagnostic interpretation and medical decision-making
Ability to order pharmacological therapies
Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and specialists
Ability to communicate with patient families and coordinate discharge
