The Production Supervisor (Department Lead) oversees daily manufacturing operations in a high-volume environment to ensure production, quality, and safety targets are consistently met. Work Environment
This role is on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The facility is a large, open manufacturing setting with multiple areas, including a machine shop, molding, bonding (machine presses), and warehouse operations. The environment is described as very safe and clean, with established safety protocols and procedures. You will work alongside a sizable production team, with dozens of employees across first, second, and third shifts, in a collaborative and structured setting. The work involves regular use of PPE, power tools, and machinery, as well as standing, walking, bending, reaching, and performing repetitive tasks for extended periods. You must be able to lift up to 35 lbs and perform hands-on production work as part of your daily responsibilities.

Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily production operations and workflows across assigned manufacturing areas.
- Supervise, coach, and develop team members to build skills, improve performance, and support career growth.
- Monitor and track production metrics, including day-by-hour performance, output, and quality results.
- Ensure adherence to ISO standards, company quality procedures, and customer specifications.
- Analyze production data and performance trends to identify issues, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including structured programs such as HPT and BARNS, to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Resolve team conflicts promptly and fairly, enforcing accountability and maintaining a positive work environment.
- Maintain strict safety and compliance standards, ensuring consistent use of PPE and adherence to safety policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, engineering, quality, and warehouse, to address production issues and improve processes.
- Support training and development of new and existing employees on processes, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Utilize Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and manufacturing systems (including MSSV) to document, track, and report production data.
- Make informed operational decisions based on data, production priorities, and resource availability.
- Communicate clearly and consistently with team members and leadership regarding goals, performance, issues, and changes.
- Support flexible coverage needs, including shift changes or additional hours, to ensure production goals are met.
- Perform hands-on production work as needed, including operating equipment and assisting with tasks on the floor.
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise, coach, and develop team members.
- Proven ability to analyze production data and make sound operational decisions.
- Experience tracking and managing production metrics such as output, quality, and day-by-hour performance.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including workflows, equipment, and production processes.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and quality control practices.
- Experience with continuous improvement processes and methodologies.
- Ability to manage conflict, enforce accountability, and maintain a positive team culture.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and cross-functional partners.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint for data tracking, reporting, and communication.
- Ability to use manufacturing systems, including MSSV, to monitor and record production activities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in a production environment.
- Basic math skills for tracking metrics, interpreting data, and supporting daily operations.
- Ability to work flexible hours and support shift changes as business needs require.
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Capability to bend, reach, and perform hands-on production work safely and effectively.
- Commitment to safety compliance, including consistent use of PPE and safe operation of power tools and machinery.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- College coursework, technical training, or relevant certifications in manufacturing, operations, or leadership preferred.
- Experience leading teams in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Exposure to structured continuous improvement programs such as HPT and BARNS.
- Familiarity with machine shop, molding, bonding (machine presses), or warehouse operations.
- Experience working in environments producing components such as rubber seals or similar products.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve production issues.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
