Job Title: Electronic Assembler

Job Description

The Electronic Assembler is responsible for assembling sub-assemblies and finished computer and server products in a clean, technology-driven production environment. This role follows detailed, on-screen instructions to build hardware components using hand tools and electronic order tracking systems, while meeting established standards for safety, quality, security, and productivity. Positions are available on both first and second shift, with occasional Saturday work required on the last Saturday of each month.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble computer hardware components and server products by following detailed, step-by-step instructions displayed on a computer screen.

  • Use the electronic order tracking system to identify the most urgent build, mark it as an open task, and manage work priorities.

  • Retrieve the correct parts cart for each build and verify in the system that all required components and quantities are present.

  • Print and apply labels for the computer or server being assembled, ensuring accuracy and proper identification.

  • Use a torque screwdriver and other hand tools to assemble computers and servers according to documented procedures and specifications.

  • Return completed assemblies and parts to the designated cart so that other team members can perform wiring and subsequent processes.

  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality builds.

  • Complete tasks according to production schedules with minimal supervision while meeting departmental productivity goals.

  • Verify all components picked against items listed on the order to ensure correct parts and quantities.

  • Perform visual quality inspections on assemblies to identify defects or non-conformances.

  • Record any non-conformances or issues in the appropriate system or documentation for tracking and resolution.

  • Conduct basic math calculations as needed for quantities, measurements, and inventory verification.

  • Work and communicate in a professional manner with team members and other departments.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with facility standards.

  • Communicate suggestions and feedback to improve build documents, processes, and workflow.

  • Load and unload materials onto or from carts to support assembly operations.

  • Use tools such as torque screwdrivers, pliers, and label-removal tools safely and effectively.

  • Follow all safety, security, and quality guidelines and comply with company policies and procedures.

  • Perform other assembly and production-related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • 1 to 3 years of assembly experience in a production or manufacturing environment.

  • 1 to 3 years of experience using hand tools, including torque screwdrivers and similar tools.

  • Strong computer skills, including comfort working with electronic order tracking systems.

  • Ability to work with Microsoft Excel and read spreadsheets to follow orders and track information.

  • Ability to read and write in English to follow written instructions, procedures, and documentation.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed to handle materials and parts carts.

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with computer hardware and electronic components.

  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions, processes, and procedures consistently.

  • Ability to perform basic math calculations for quantities and measurements.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while meeting production schedules and departmental goals.

  • Strong attention to detail for verifying components, performing visual inspections, and recording non-conformances.

  • Professional communication skills to collaborate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Openness to entry-level candidates who are good with computers and have strong mechanical aptitude.

  • Experience assembling computers, servers, or electronic equipment.

  • Familiarity with electronic assembly practices and working with electronics.

  • Experience using torque screwdrivers, pliers, and other small hand tools in a production setting.

  • Ability to accurately record non-conformances and quality issues in electronic systems or logs.

  • Comfort working in a structured, technology-focused environment with on-screen instructions and order tracking.

  • Willingness to work the last Saturday of each month as part of the regular schedule.

  • Ability to maintain an organized workstation and manage parts carts efficiently.

  • Experience with soldering or electronic assembly is a plus, if applicable.

Work Environment

The facility builds various types of computers and servers for a wide range of clients in a highly organized, temperature-controlled, and extremely clean production environment. Each assembler has their own workstation with a high-top table, swivel chair, and a large vertical monitor used to view orders, instructions, and emails. A parts cart is positioned near each workstation with all components required for current builds. Employees use tools such as torque screwdrivers, pliers, and specialized tools for removing labels and stickers, all provided by the company. The role involves sitting for approximately 60–70% of the day while working at the computer, with the remainder spent handling parts carts and assemblies. Casual dress is allowed, and employees may wear whatever they like, including headphones during their shift. The facility features a large cafeteria with free healthy snacks and drinks, a foosball table, other recreational activities, and a large TV available during breaks. Work is performed on structured first and second shifts, with training on first shift for second-shift roles and occasional Saturday work on the last Saturday of each month.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
