Posting Summary The School of Engineering at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking multiple part‑time instructors (Lecturer/Coadjutant) for the Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027 semesters to teach the first‑year introduction to engineering course sequence 14:440:101/102. The successful candidate will cover the full range of duties associated with teaching, including, but not limited to, preparing course material; teaching during assigned course times; supervising a group of teaching and learning assistants; holding office hours and providing appropriate out‑of‑class time for students; responding to student e‑mail; conducting and grading assessments of students through assignments, exams, and other means in a timely manner; and submitting final grades. Course appointments may require instruction during the day, in the evenings, online, or any combination of these. Prior college teaching experience in the course topic area is preferred. Candidates are invited to submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, the names and contact information of at least three references, and a teaching statement providing evidence of effective and inclusive teaching. Additional evidence such as a sample syllabus, course materials, student instructional ratings, or published work may also be uploaded. Consideration of candidates will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Qualifications Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Engineering Education, or a related field is preferred. Master’s degree with proven teaching proficiency in engineering will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications In‑depth knowledge of computer programming, particularly in languages relevant to engineering applications (e.g., Python, MATLAB). Hands‑on experience with CAD software for design and modeling; familiarity with additive manufacturing processes.
