HVAC Maintenance Technician

Job Description QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Post‑secondary education or training is preferred. Able to read, write, speak and understand English. Able to lift/move 50+ pounds. Able to walk/stand for long periods of time. Working knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Knowledge of chiller and boiler operations. Geothermal experience is a plus. Be self‑starter, able to work efficiently with little supervision; and Maintain a valid TN driver's license. At least 2 years’ comparable work experience is preferred. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the safe condition of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment in all district buildings, ensuring a condition of operating excellence at all times. This is a 12‑month, 260‑day position with insurance and retirement benefits. Pay will be determined by documented comparable work experience and placement on Grade 6 of the Hourly Classified Salary Schedule. Starting rate of pay will be no less than $16.07 per hour.
