Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID, EIPA, or equivalent)
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in school or educational settings preferred
• Ability to adapt signing style to diverse student needs
• Collaborative mindset to work with teachers, staff, and support teams
• Strong communication and organizational abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate interpretation between spoken English and ASL during classes, meetings, and school functions
• Facilitate understanding and communication for students by interpreting instructions, discussions, and conversations in academic and social environments
• Assist educators and school staff in modifying materials and routines to ensure student access
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information and school matters
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and help in assessing accommodations or services as needed
• Support students in becoming more independent and confident in their interactions
