Description

South Florida Autism Charter School (SFACS) is hiring Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) for the 2026-27 school year. SFACS is a charter school that exclusively serves students on the autism spectrum, in grades K-12, up to age 22.

• Contract dates are September 1, 2026 - May 28, 2027.
• The hourly rate is $33 - $35 per hour (commensurate with experience).
• Does not include Benefits and Paid Time Off.

Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy services to K-12 students with autism under the supervision and direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT).
• Implement individualized treatment plans addressing fine motor skills, sensory processing, self-care, visual-motor integration, and functional participation in the school environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, behavior analysts, and other members of the educational team to support student goals and promote independence across school settings.
• Document student progress, maintain accurate treatment records, and provide data and observations to the supervising OT to assist with evaluation of student outcomes.
• Participate in IEP-related activities, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary collaboration as appropriate, while maintaining compliance with school policies, professional standards, and student confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
• Valid COTA License for the State of Florida required.
• Background screening required through Miami-Dade County Public Schools (cannot begin working without background screening); Social Security card is required. Fingerprint fee is $97; drug screening fee is $35, payable to the testing facility.
• Professional Development: Part-time staff must attend four (2) staff trainings per year; Full-time staff must attend four (4) trainings per year. Additional training(s) may be required by the School District.
• Community Service Requirement: Required to volunteer at one event: the SFACS Walk in April.
