In this role you will collaborate closely with the Regional and General Managers to develop and maintain new and existing accounts, growing our ferrous and non‑ferrous volumes by seeking the most profitable scrap within the state and region. This position requires a dynamic individual with initiative, who can collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and partners. We are currently looking for Buyers for existing and future yard locations in the Georgia Region . Salary is based upon experience. You will be expected to achieve positive results in all areas, including Commercial Sales. Primary Responsibilities of a Buyer Procure and price ferrous and/or non‑ferrous materials within guidelines for new and existing accounts, as determined by the Regional and/or General Manager. Develop strategic plans for new business to generate new sources of ferrous and/or non‑ferrous material. Visit and maintain current and potential customers such as demolition contractors, dealers, auto wreckers, construction projects, industrial accounts to generate and investigate new sources of ferrous and/or non‑ferrous material. Monitor commodity market trends in conjunction with the operation's material flow to make informed purchase decisions to maximize profitability. Conduct sales calls and build strong relationships with suppliers and customers. Visit customers and suppliers and draw new business. Purchase scrap so that volume and profitability targets are met or exceeded. Ensure that purchased ferrous and/or non‑ferrous materials conform to specifications. Investigate and resolve supplier complaints, ensuring complaints are recorded, and follow‑up actions are verified, in accordance with the SA Recycling’s guidelines. Complete and submit monthly reports in a timely and accurate manner and participate in meetings to discuss and review results as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in business, sales or marketing; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and understanding of the ferrous and non‑ferrous scrap metal industry as well as processing & logistics techniques. Prior experience in ferrous and non‑ferrous buying preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication. Creative problem‑solving skills, and the ability to resolve issues and provide solutions. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong financial acumen and experience. Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to communicate effectively, interact with customers and suppliers. Must complete pre‑employment physical and drug screen. Must pass background and credit check. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) is a plus. Willingness to work in both office and outdoor yard environments in varying weather conditions.
