Job Title

Registered Nurse – ICU / Intermediate Care (Float Pool)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients in an Intermediate Care / ICU float pool setting, covering Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU patient populations
• Manage patients with complex withdrawal syndromes (including OUD requiring continuous drips and alcohol withdrawal protocols), hypertensive conditions, and DKA requiring insulin infusions and frequent glucose monitoring
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:2, never exceeding 3:1, floating between IMCU and step-down units only
• Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to individualize and coordinate patient care
• Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with standards of nursing practice and departmental policies and procedures
• Apply the nursing process using current principles, theories, methods, and techniques of nursing practice under the direction of the licensed physician

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in an ICU clinical specialty
• Active Pennsylvania RN license or Multi-State Compact (MSL) RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Additional certifications as required per order check for specialty area

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience managing patients on continuous drips (e.g., Precedex) and complex withdrawal protocols
• Familiarity with DKA management including insulin infusion protocols and frequent glucose monitoring
