Our goal is to work with people and help them enjoy a life that is rich and fulfilling.Turning Leaf Agency is seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential group home setting. We are currently hiring for:Full-TimePart-TimePer DiemAll Shifts Available (1st, 2nd, 3rd, Weekends)DSPs provide daily support to individuals in the home, community, and program settings while promoting independence, dignity, choice, and safety.Essential Responsibilities:Provide direct care and support to individuals based on their individualized needs and goalsAssist individuals with daily living skills, community activities, recreational opportunities, and social developmentPromote independence while maintaining a safe and supportive environmentTreat all individuals with dignity, respect, and professionalismMaintain appropriate documentation and complete required reports accurately and timelyCommunicate effectively with supervisors, residential staff, guardians, medical professionals, and team membersEnsure the safety and well-being of all individuals servedAssist with transportation to appointments, activities, and community outingsPerform light housekeeping and help maintain cleanliness of the home, vehicles, and equipmentRespond appropriately to emergencies, including medical or behavioral situationsAttend required trainings, staff meetings, and agency eventsFollow all agency policies, DDS regulations, and safety proceduresEligible employees may receive:401(k)Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceFlexible SchedulingPaid OrientationReferral ProgramSchedule Options:Day ShiftEvening ShiftOvernight ShiftWeekendsFlexible Scheduling AvailableWork Location: Canterbury and surrounding Connecticut locations. This is an in person position.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities preferredValid Connecticut Driver's License requiredMust be insurable through the agency's insurance carrierReliable transportation requiredAbility to pass all required background checks and screeningsMust be able to obtain DDS Medication Certification within the first three months of employmentStrong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skillsAbility to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all timesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays as neededPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to bend, twist, reach, and assist individuals as neededAbility to safely operate agency vehiclesAbility to respond quickly to emergency situationsRequired Training:Employees must successfully complete all required agency and DDS trainings, including but not limited to:CPRFirst AidPMDDS Medication CertificationOther mandatory trainings as assignedEOE Statement: We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
