Location: Mahwah, NJ

Schedule: Hybrid – Majority onsite, typically 4–5 days per week

Pay Rate: $65–$70/hour

Contract: 12 months

Potential Overtime: Available

Start Date: October 19, 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Project Engineer to support new process, automation, and capital equipment projects within a manufacturing environment.

This role will be responsible for the technical execution of engineering and manufacturing projects from concept through production release. The engineer will work closely with Project Managers, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, equipment suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects are implemented safely, efficiently, and successfully.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong technical and organizational skills who can work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of capital equipment and manufacturing improvement projects from planning through production release.
  • Coordinate engineering activities, project action items, schedules, and technical deliverables.
  • Participate in equipment design reviews and work with equipment suppliers to resolve technical issues.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT , qualification, validation, and production readiness activities.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Facilities, Supply Chain, Project Management, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and resolution of equipment, process, and manufacturing issues.
  • Maintain project documentation, engineering records, and other required project deliverables.
  • Support change control and implementation activities associated with new equipment and manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in project meetings and communicate project status, technical issues, and action items.
  • Spend time both in the office and on the manufacturing floor while progressively taking ownership of assigned project responsibilities.
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external equipment vendors.
  • Apply engineering judgment and problem-solving skills to support safe, reliable, and scalable manufacturing solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline .
  • Approximately 2–4 years of engineering experience for the Senior level. Relevant internships and co-op experience may be considered.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
  • Willingness to work primarily onsite in Mahwah, NJ .

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment .
  • Experience with capital equipment or manufacturing engineering projects.
  • Exposure to automation, robotics, or new manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, FAT/SAT, qualification, or validation.
  • Experience working with equipment suppliers or vendors.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with engineering change control and technical documentation.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, or other project management tools.
  • PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or other project management certification is a plus.

What You'll Do in Your First 90 Days

First 30 Days: Complete onboarding and develop an understanding of the manufacturing processes, project lifecycle, equipment, and team structure.

First 60 Days: Begin supporting active projects by coordinating action items, participating in project meetings, and assisting with technical and equipment-related activities.

First 90 Days: Independently manage assigned project tasks and establish strong working relationships with cross-functional teams and equipment vendors.

Work Environment

This position is primarily based at the manufacturing site in Mahwah, New Jersey . The role combines office-based engineering/project work with time spent on the manufacturing floor and around equipment.

This is a hybrid position, but candidates should be comfortable working onsite approximately 4–5 days per week.
