Job Title Registered Nurse – CVICU Location Winston-Salem, NC | Acute Care Schedule / Job Type Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM) | 36 or 48 hours per week available | 13–26 week contracts accepted | Every other weekend required | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care in a Post Open Heart Recovery Unit, caring for patients post open heart surgery, thoracotomies, esophagogastrectomies, and TAVR procedures Manage and interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases (ABGs); titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including IABP, ECMO, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, Swan-Ganz/Pulmonary Artery Lines, and CRRT Provide care for ventilated patients including airway management and continuous IV sedation Administer blood products and manage central lines and arterial lines Document using EPIC, dispense medications via PYXIS, and communicate using SBAR; float within or near the facility as required Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of critical care (CC) experience required CVICU or open heart experience required No first-time travelers; prior travel nursing experience required Active NC RN license or Compact license (pending license acceptable for submission) Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Local candidates are welcome and accepted Preferred Experience / Skills Experience accessing and managing ports and titrating vasoactive drips Proficiency with BiPAP/CPAP management, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), and ventilator management Experience assisting with chest tube insertion and removal Why Join Us Work in a high-acuity, specialized cardiovascular ICU environment with exposure to advanced procedures and cutting-edge cardiac technology Self-scheduling model offered with flexible contract length options ranging from 13 to 26 weeks Concentric Healthcare Staffing Job ID 776429.
