The restaurant serves timeless French dishes including onion soup, escargot, steak frites, and fresh seafood alongside a thoughtful wine list and classic cocktails.The dining room reflects the elegance and warmth of a traditional Parisian bistro, creating a welcoming space where guests can gather for long meals, celebrations, or casual drinks at the bar. Pomeroy brings the flavors and atmosphere of a classic French neighborhood restaurant to Chicago's North Shore.Server Job Summary:As the primary point of contact for guest interactions in the dining room, the Server is responsible for selling & serving food & beverages using their knowledge, hospitality and service skills. Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent knowledge of food & alcoholic beverage selections. Must be comfortable suggesting food & wine pairings, craft beers, and aperitifs and familiar with local beverage products. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly, ensure smooth service operations and provide consistent, pleasant, quality service. We offer:Paid LeaveMedical, Dental, and Vision InsuranceOpportunities for professional growth and developmentA supportive and inclusive work environmentThe chance to be part of a renowned and growing restaurant group known for its culinary artistry and welcoming ambianceEmployee dining privilegesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Greet and seat guests promptly and professionally.Guide guests through their dining experience with knowledge and hospitality focus.Take and submit food and beverage orders through a point of sale system - Toast.Communicate dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests to the kitchen and bar.Deliver food and beverages accurately and ensure guest satisfaction.Collaborate with service staff to clear and reset tables efficiently.Manage guest financial transactions and verify the accuracy of daily sales and payment reconciliation.Assist with cleaning and maintaining the dining area and other restaurant tasks as needed.Participate in Pre-Shift meetings and stay informed about menu items.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Must be at least 21 years old.High school diploma or equivalent required.Minimum of 2 years of dining experience preferred.Maintain a BASSET and ServSafe Food Handlers Certification.Extensive knowledge of food and beverage preparation and handling.Excellent interpersonal, communication, and time management skills.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.Proficient with Point of Sale systems (Toast preferred).Must be able to work Weekends, Evenings and HolidaysAbility to lift and move up to 50 pounds and carry trays of food weighing up to 25 pounds.If you are a dedicated Server with a passion for delivering exceptional service and a keen eye for detail, we invite you to apply and bring your talents to Ballyhoo Hospitality.
