Sales Manager, Packaging

Job Purpose As a Sales Manager, you will oversee the development, coordination and direction of profitable sales within a specified region. Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv’s customer base. This position requires a “take the wheel” approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management. Job Responsibilities Conduct sales meetings, trainings, and account/pipeline reviews on a regular basis with sales group. Create a personal network and represent the organization at business sector events to enhance the company brand. Implement sales and marketing strategies to the team which will contribute to achieving the Territory and Regional objectives. Set appropriate performance objectives for team members and hold them accountable for achieving these. Develop a team of high performers who grow business through new account acquisition and expanding share of wallet. Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications Experience and knowledge in Packaging, Facility Solutions or similar industry is preferred. Experience in and knowledge of the Agricultural and Produce industries preferred. Must have strong leadership and management skills. Experience managing a team of 5-10 direct reports. Territory sales or account management experience preferred. Strong understanding or experience from a large, national or decentralized distribution organization preferred. Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM is preferred. Bi‑lingual Spanish/English preferred. Ability to travel up to 50% Salary Range: $143,000 to $210,400 with bonus eligibility. Work Experience 10-15 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent. 15+ years of related job experience. A thorough understanding of distribution management (customer service, sales, purchasing, warehouse, credit, information systems, and logistics) that is preferably from a large, national, or decentralized organization. Excellent verbal, written, people, and diplomacy skills are required. Experienced in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources over long time frames. Experience of planning, managing and organizing resources within short/medium timescales within the overall policy framework. Strong planning and organization skills are required. Education Bachelor's Degree Preferred Physical Requirements A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds.
