Dance Program Coordinator
We are currently looking for a Full Time Dance Program Coordinator to join our Area of Performing Arts team located at the Chickasaw Nation Arts & Humanities Division Dance Studio.
Summary: In order to meet the performing arts' initiatives and mandates created in order to grow by doing more professional productions/performances on an annual basis, this position will assist in the oversight of the dance studio and retail facility in an effort to grow the use of the facility which will in turn assist in the growth of the dance musical theatre program in Performing Arts.
Responsibilities: Assists in the over-all management of the dance studio facility ensuring that the facility is kept in good order including overseeing any needed maintenance of the facility. Oversees the stocking of all products sold in the retail area including, but not limited to, shoes, leotards, tights, dance bags and t-shirts. Under the direction of the program manager will order products to stock and may suggest new/different items to sell. Will receive and assist parents, students, guests and customers who will enter the dance studio, and will schedule and keep daily/weekly/monthly/yearly calendars of usage of dance spaces and instructors assigned to teach various classes, as well as entities within the division who may need use of the facility (studios). Will keep various cuff accounts for tuition paid, purchases made and sold, write receipts, etc. Assists with the development and implementation of programs and services which pertain to dance and musical theatre. Assists in the development of classes/workshops/seminars in such areas as, but not limited to, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary and social dancing. May assist in the teaching of dance classes to children, teens and adults in such areas as, but not limited to, ballet, tap, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary and country line dancing. Oversees the proper maintenance of dance costumes and equipment to keep them in good order, as well as keep up proper inventory of items. Provides first class customer service to both internal and external customers and responds to inquiries, compliments, and/or complaints with professionalism, courtesy, and efficiency. Completes all training and development requirements and participates in continuing education opportunities. Works in a collaborative and supportive manner to support the productivity and safety of the work area, team members and customers of all types - Maintains a clean, organized work area and ensures a safe environment - Maintains and promotes professionalism - Punctual and consistent in meeting start time, work schedule, attendance and other assigned work time metrics - Adheres to Chickasaw Nation dress code standards. Maintains knowledge of and follows all rules, regulations, policies and guidelines for assigned area. Performs all other duties as assigned.
Competencies: Able to follow instructions, both written and oral. Able to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirements. Honesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountability. Able to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines. Understand, utilize and apply cash handling knowledge. Knowledge of advertising and marketing principles. Organizes work and assigned area logically and orderly. Able to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and management. Writes effective communications with team, departments, guests and management.
Skills: Basic Computer skills. Operate point-of-sale terminal.
Experience: 1 year directly related experience.
Education: High School, GED or Equivalent. Nonessential: Bachelors Degree in directly related field.
Credentials: Standard Driver's License. Pass general background check.
Working Conditions: Sometimes bend, kneel, stoop, push, reach. Dance studio. Sometimes lift and or carry up to 25 lbs. Pass pre-employment drug test.
