Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of neuro nursing experience, NIHSS certification, and a FL or compact RN license.

Details

• Neuro PCU within a 52-bed unit
• Patient ratios typically 4:1, with expectation to handle ratios up to 1:5
• 12-hour day shifts, 3 shifts per week
• Floating required to both stepdown and PCU sides of the Neuro floor
• Possible floating to sister campuses within 15-20 minutes of the facility
• No on-call responsibilities

Requirements

• Active FL or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with neuro experience required
• Experience administering Cardene and Cleviprex required
• Ability to read and interpret EKG rhythms required
• Nursing degree must be from an accredited program as reflected on profile, or 5 years of experience required in lieu of accreditation verification
• Driver's license address must match address on file with the Board of Nursing

Additional Information

• Function as part of the core unit staff alongside permanent employees
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; radius rule is strictly enforced
• Candidates cannot own or cosign property within the 50-mile radius
• All requested RTO must be submitted upfront, as RTO will not be approved after submission
• Orientation begins on a Friday, including remote orientation and an in-person visit to the facility for badge and ID
• Galaxy Blue or White scrubs required
• Hard document deadline is the Monday prior to start date with no exceptions
• Facility values flexibility and a strong team-player attitude
• Local candidates accepted if within the radius requirement
