Job Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments, encompassing comprehensive physical exams and an in-depth review of medical histories
• Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through the evaluation of imaging studies and laboratory results
• Work in close partnership with surgeons to develop and implement patient-centered surgical treatment plans
• Provide essential intraoperative support including preparing operating rooms, ensuring proper patient positioning, and efficiently passing surgical instruments during operations
• Deliver exemplary pre- and post-operative care which includes administering medications, handling wound care, planning discharge protocols, and patient education

Education

• Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Completion of clinical rotations with a surgical focus is highly preferred

Certifications

• Current and unrestricted PA-C certification
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• State licensure (or eligibility) as a Physician Assistant

Skills

• Strong understanding of surgical principles and sterile techniques
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical decisions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven ability to thrive in high-pressure situations, particularly in surgical settings
