Part-Time Package Handler

Job Summary The Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery. Hours and Wages Monday-Friday, 3:00PM start or Tuesday-Saturday, 5:00AM start $18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience Duties and Responsibilities Unload packages by hand from fleet vehicles Scan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposes Sort each package by zip code, city, or state Stack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as needed Perform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment Perform other duties as assigned Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal communication skills Efficient time management skills Excellent organization skills and attention to detail Ability to read labels at a fast pace and work independently Education and Experience At least 16 years old High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements Ability to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freight Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionally Ability to work with all types of freight, including hazardous material, perishable food, alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals Benefits 401(k) Plan EEO and Affimative Action Statement Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
