Comprehensive management of construction projects from estimating/bidding to close out which includes but is not limited to:
- Seek out projects to bid
- Business Development
- Attend pre-bid meetings
- Estimating
- Planning and execution of projects from start to finish safely, efficiently and profitably
- Managing our own staff/trade crews
- Self-performing and mentoring junior staff in the trades you are skilled in
- Managing subcontractors
- Preparation of CPM schedules
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
- Thoroughly familiar with CSI Specifications Divisions
- Prepare Change Orders
- Find suppliers and subcontractors, obtain pricing prior to bidding
- Reading and understanding construction drawings and specifications
Requirements:
- Estimating
- Ability to perform field work including manual labor, skilled labor and equipment operation as necessary to ensure successful execution of projects
- 10 years of experience in construction in the Baltimore-DC area
- Experience managing subcontractors
- Trade Experience in either demolition, concrete, earthwork, utilities, structural steel or masonry
- List of subcontractors used in your past experience
- Self-perform take-offs even for subcontracted trades using take-off software
Preferences:
- 5 years hands-on experience in a trade (preferably earthwork, utilities, concrete, masonry or structural steel)
- Speaks Spanish
- 10 years local experience in the Baltimore-DC area
