Required: RNs must have one year of inpatient experience minimum in the related department with the trauma level shown below
Required: One year of travel experience is preferred but will consider six months’ travel

Job Summary

Under general supervision and guidance, the MRI Technologist I provides specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and pediatric patients. This entry-level role focuses on achieving initial competencies to support medical staff in diagnosing, treating, and monitoring various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality, and cost-effective patient care in various settings, including inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, and diagnostic centers.
• Prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician-ordered procedures.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve clinical and operational goals.
• Operate specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic equipment to perform diagnostic, interventional, and surgical procedures.
• Ensure post-procedure reviews are completed and documented per department protocols and accreditation standards.
• Transfer images and data to archival systems, enter technical findings, and prepare studies for physician reporting.
• Perform quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
• Engage in continuing education and professional development to maintain competencies and improve care quality.

Required Qualifications

• Knowledge of cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology, medical imaging, terminology, patient positioning, and medical ethics.
• Ability to work as part of a team, follow instructions, and maintain consistent attendance.
• Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs.
• Strong record-keeping skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment.
• Proficiency in multitasking and remaining calm under pressure.
• Understanding of anatomy, physiology, and terminology related to the specialty area.
• Ability to apply core-level specialty theory and techniques with general supervision.

Required Education

• Graduate of a CAAHEP-accredited cardiovascular specialty program or a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program.

Preferred Education

• Associate’s degree or higher.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Eligibility for MRI Certification (must be achieved within 12 months of hire).
• AHA BLS certification.
