Pay: $52.00 to $69.75 per hour

Qualifications:

\n

\n
• BSCE degree
\n
• California registration as a Professional Engineer (Civil or Traffic) Mandatory.
\n
• Minimum of 3-12 years of traffic engineering experience. Compensation may vary based on interview, experience, and licensure.
\n
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience supervising traffic designers and CAD drafters/technicians
\n
• Strong independent thought and decision-making abilities, with demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
\n
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, public-agency personnel, and in-house staff
\n
• Recent Southern California experience, preferably in San Diego County
\n

\n

Management experience should include:

\n

\n
• Supervising traffic engineering design teams
\n
• Managing project schedules and budgets
\n
• Preparing contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
\n
• Working directly with clients and public agencies
\n

\n

\n

Technical experience should include:

\n

\n
• Providing municipal traffic engineering services, including in-house services
\n
• Preparing and processing final traffic engineering plans (traffic signals, traffic control plans, signing/striping plans, etc.)
\n
• Preparing Traffic Impact Analyses and other traffic-related studies and reports
\n
• Transit planning and design experience is a plus
\n

\n

Preferred skills:

\n

\n
• Extensive, demonstrated engineering ability across all aspects of traffic engineering and planning projects
\n
• Proficiency in HCS, Vistro, Synchro, and other traffic-related software
\n
• Working knowledge of the California Vehicle Code (CVC) and MUTCD
\n
• Familiarity with the Highway Capacity Manual
\n
