Packaging Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

Packaging Machine OperatorAmerican Wood Fibers (AWF) is a manufacturer of both consumer and industrial products that are sold to multiple manufacturers as well as pet, agricultural, and home-heating markets. AWF is comprised of 400+ employees and holds operations at 11 locations, generating over $100M in annual sales revenue. We are currently seeking a candidate for the Packaging Machine Operator role in our Marshall, Texas facility.The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for working in a safe, efficient manner to maximize hands-on production and shipping of wood shavings.Essential Responsibilities:Safety:Attend monthly safety meetingsWear PPE as requiredAttend trainings as needed and complete required testing with sufficient resultsProduction:Operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner producing packaged materials for AWF customersConfers with shift supervisor and follows through with assigned work dutiesAssist with cleaning up work areaPlace an empty bag on the fill tube, seal, place in master pack, and hand palletize (up to 40 lbs.)Outdoor Activities:Perform outside duties to include sweeping, picking up debris, watering flowers and shrubbery, shoveling snow, and deicing walkways as requiredQuality:Maintain and verify that all current quality assurance measures are being followed and communicatedQualifications:High School Diploma or GEDAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoopPrevious mobile equipment and/or forklift preferredPhysical Qualifications:Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. regularlyAbility to respond quickly to soundsAbility to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spacesAbility to see and respond to dangerous situationsAbility to work in extreme weatherBe able to climb stairs and/or ladder to the stacking station areasAbility to wear personal protective gear correctlyCandidate MUST be able to work in a smoke-free environmentExperience:Manufacturing: 1 Year (Preferred)Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programFlexible spending accountHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offProfessional development assistanceReferral programRetirement planTuition reimbursementVision insuranceSchedule:Sunday - ThursdayOvertime-eligibleFor consideration…Due to the nature of our business, American Wood Fibers requires a tobacco and smoke-free environment.
