Job Description

As a CNC Precision OD Grinder, you will be responsible for setting up and operate CNC Grinding machines to manufacture end mills and drills by performing OD grinding of material. Perform frequent changeovers for small quantity custom orders. Maximize production efficiencies through simultaneous operation of more than one machine. Responsibilities:

• Receive and review work assignments; verify that work pieces and routing match regarding count, type and proper sequence
• Follow established procedures for machine setting up, including select proper grind wheels, bushings, collets and programs to be used; input tool and set up values; grind first piece, inspect, adjust as needed and obtain approval from lead worker or supervisor when process has been completed
• Set up and operate multiple machines as needed
• Enter all production information into the data collection system
• Monitor equipment performance; report problems and request required maintenance to avoid unnecessary downtime and machine damage or repairs
• Perform all other duties as assigned
• Responsible for keeping area clean at all times

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
• One year of direct CNC OD Grinding machine set up and operation experience. Previous experience involving principles of grinding
• Must be able to read, understand and follow written instructions and shop drawings
• Above average math skills and ability to calculate appropriate machine settings and adjust accordingly
• Must be able to use required precision measuring and testing equipment
• Broad knowledge of cutting tool design and universal grinding procedures through using multi-axis CNC equipment

The base salary range for this position is $22, to $27 Depending on Experience excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final salary will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future salary growth.
