Job Title: Electrical Assembler Job Description

The Electrical Assembler supports the lead tester by performing repetitive testing of circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical equipment. This role focuses on running load tests, documenting results, and escalating issues to the lead tester for troubleshooting. You will work with a wide range of products from 24V to 480V and use tools such as multimeters, voltmeters, and injection testing equipment to ensure that all units meet quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the lead tester by performing repetitive testing of circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical equipment.

• Run load testing reports on approximately 50 units per day and accurately document test results.

• Monitor test outcomes and promptly inform the lead tester when a unit fails or flags for further investigation.

• Test electrical products ranging from 24V to 480V in a safe and consistent manner.

• Use multimeters, voltmeters, and injection testing equipment to verify electrical performance and integrity.

• Assist with testing high voltage circuit breakers and transformers for industrial and commercial applications.

• Follow electrical schematics and basic wiring diagrams while performing tests and related tasks.

• Support electrical construction, controls, and PLC-related testing as needed.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe testing area and comply with all safety procedures and guidelines.

• Collaborate with the lead tester and other team members to improve testing processes and throughput.

• Complete and maintain accurate test records, reports, and documentation for each unit tested.

Essential Skills

• 1–2+ years of electrical knowledge or experience.

• Experience working with electrical products, including circuit breakers and transformers up to 480V.

• Ability to use multimeters, voltmeters, and injection testing equipment.

• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and wiring.

• Experience with load testing and reporting.

• Familiarity with electrical construction, electrical controls, and PLCs.

• Ability to follow safety procedures when working around high voltage equipment.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in testing and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working around high voltage circuit breakers and transformers in industrial or commercial environments.

• Technical degree or diploma in an electrical-related field is ideal.

• Previous on-the-job experience in electrical testing, electrical construction, or related roles.

• Comfort working with a variety of breaker types and aftermarket or secondary breakers.

• Willingness to obtain additional certifications such as forklift and OSHA training provided by the employer.

Work Environment

The testing team is currently small and is expanding, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Standard hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with voluntary overtime available. The work is performed in an industrial shop environment where safety is a priority. Dress typically includes steel-toed boots, work pants, and a T-shirt, reflecting a practical and hands-on work setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minneapolis, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
